Description

This introductory class is for students new to Folklórico. Class is for both boys and girls. Children are taught the basics of etiquette, body awareness, alignment, and posture. Students are taught the fundamentals of basic dance techniques, along with basic Folklórico footwork that serve as a foundation for advancement into other classes.

This Ballet Folklorico Moderno dance class combines traditional Folklorico dances and steps with modern dance techniques, music and elements from other dance styles. Adding elements from Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Ballroom dances enhances traditional Hispanic dances making them even more beautiful and colorful.

Dress code for Boys: black slacks, white long sleeve dress shirt and black dance shoes or soft dress shoes. No tennis shoes, no jeans, no T-shirts

Dress code for Girls: red long sleeve leotard, red 1.5 circle (540 degree) skirt, black ballet dance shoes. Whole package can be purchased at our dance store (International Dance Design) for $65+tax. Flesh colored tights are optional.
