Description

This dance class is a good introduction to dance. At a very young age, boys and girls have slightly different learning styles and feel more comfortable with young children of their own gender. Therefore, we are introducing this class to allow boys to start dancing in a fun, friendly and boy-oriented environment. This dance class will provide boys with the basics necessary to allow them to transition more comfortably to other forms of dance.

The focus of this dance class will be on improving flexibility, building strength required for movement, musicality and recognizing different rhythms. Students will also work on coordinating their bodies to listen and respond to music. These exercises will provide a good foundation to understanding body mechanics. Finally, students will learn simple dance steps for different types of dance.

This dance class will be taught by a male dance instructor. Having a male dance instructor provides boys with a role model and encourages them to learn more effectively. It will also demonstrate how dance can be performed in a masculine manner.
